Ezra 1:1
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the
LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD
stirred up the
spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout
all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
Ezra 1:2
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD
God of heaven hath given me
all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an
house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
Ezra 1:3
Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let
him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the
LORD
God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.
Ezra 1:5
Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the
priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to
go up to build the house of the LORD
which is in Jerusalem.
Ezra 1:7
Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD,
which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put
them in the house of his gods;
Ezra 2:68
And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the
LORD
which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set
it up in his place:
Ezra 3:3
And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of
the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon
unto the LORD, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
Ezra 3:5
And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, both of the new
moons, and of all the set feasts of the LORD
that were consecrated, and
of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto the LORD
.
Ezra 3:6
From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt
offerings unto the LORD
. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD
was not yet laid.
Ezra 3:8
Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at
Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel,
and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the
priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the
captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years
old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD
.
Ezra 3:10
And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD,
they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the
sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of
David king of Israel.
Ezra 3:11
And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the
LORD
; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel.
And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the
LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD
was laid.
Ezra 4:1
Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children
of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD
God of Israel;
Ezra 4:3
But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of
Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house
unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD
God of
Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.
Ezra 6:21
And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and
all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of
the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD
God of Israel, did eat,
Ezra 6:22
And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the LORDhad made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God
of Israel.
Ezra 7:6
This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of
Moses, which the LORD
God of Israel had given: and the king granted him
all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
Ezra 7:10
For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do
it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
Ezra 7:11
Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto
Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the
commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.
Ezra 7:27
Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:
Ezra 7:28
And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
Ezra 8:25
And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, even the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his LORD's, and all Israel there present, had offered:
Ezra 8:28
And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD ; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.
Ezra 8:29
Watch ye, and keep them, until ye weigh them before the chief of the
priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at
Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD .
Ezra 8:35
Also the children of those that had been carried away, which were come
out of the captivity, offered burnt offerings unto the God of Israel,
twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven
lambs, twelve he goats for a sin offering: all this was a burnt offering
unto the LORD.
Ezra 9:5
And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having
rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my
hands unto the LORD my God.
Ezra 9:8
And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD
our God,
to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy
place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving
in our bondage.
Ezra 9:15
O LORD
God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as
it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we
cannot stand before thee because of this.
Ezra 10:3
Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the
wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my
LORD, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let
it be done according to the law.
Ezra 10:11
Now therefore make confession unto the LORD
God of your fathers, and do
his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and
from the strange wives.
